jay adores: business cards

I've been calling these cards the mint chip ice cream cards.
With chipboard on one side and a pistachio green on the other, it totally make sense, right? Maybe I needed something for my sweet tooth while printing these.

It was an pleasure to work with Jaymee again on her cards. We first met when she approached me to print her wedding invitations using the same pistachio green paper. It's one of my favorite invitations. Check them out here and the full package here on her site.

The specs:
Set 1: green with gold ink with duplexed chipboard with black ink
Set 2: chipboard double-sided with black ink

fresh off the press: alison brislin

Just finished this batch of business cards for the talented Alison Brislin in time for the Cream Event that happened this past Sunday.

These simple black and white, square business cards were designed by Kate Miss.

I can't braid my hair if my life depended on it. Thank goodness for Alison's amazing hair braiding skills. Did I mention she's a stylist too?

Hawaii in February
hawaii_cover.jpg

My mister and I are were overdue for vacation. Sure. we spent all of 2011 in Germany but it wasn't vacation. Since we got married last February, we haven't boarded a plane and have spent all of our time in LA.

Our 1 year anniversary was creeping up and our loving moms generously gifted to us a vacation in Hawaii as our anniversary / belated honeymoon. We're so blessed and thankful.

After barely packing, we boarded the plane and we knew that was it. We were leaving LA to escape it all. No stress about prints, clients, work, traffic and the other daily ghosts that follow us in a normal day.

Off the plane and in tropical landscapes the place grew on us quick. We ate, lounged, ate some more, lay lazy in hammocks on the beach. We even went horseback riding in North Shore, saw whales from a catamaran and earned our Hawaiian Tropic tans. Everyday, I started the day by eating a chocolate covered macadamia and thought in my head "it's vacation!"

Hawaii never loses it's tropical charm. It's an easy escape and you can't help but fall into the island ways.

Postcards from Munich

Sometimes I reminisce of our year spent in Germany.

It was a year to remember full of new experiences and the unknown. I lived in the grey area and became really comfortable with it. Uncertainty was becoming the norm. Going out exploring the city was stressful, getting on a new underground line, another transaction to get a piece of bread, using the ATM and simply encountering people at a department store made me uneasy. My German is pretty rough. You can only imagine.

From that year, I realize the LA nuances we take for granted. The biggest one- the sun! Take a look at these pictures taking at the exact same time of the year. Yep, there's still know. Imagine snow from November to February. I don't miss it at all.

I love California.
