Christmas in Munich

Frohe Weihnachten!

That's how you say Merry Christmas in German.

Last year's holiday card. The last thing printed in Munich

Fro-uh Vine-knock-ten << the phoenetic way of breaking it down

This year, the holidays came so fast. I don't know if it's the LA weather or how busy things have been. It all seems so....what's the word...fabricated.

LA Christmases will never be the same after experiencing a German Christmas. There's no Thanksgiving or Black Friday to kick off the holidays. Instead, the weather sets the mood and soon Christmas outdoor markets appear and everyone bundles up at night to go out to the night markets to enjoy a glass of Glühwein, a hot, mulled spiced wine, and enjoy a bite of festive eats from outdoor stands among friends. It may be snowing outside but when you're in a plaza surrounded by old building with a glass of warm wine and a garlic bread and laughing to jokes, suddenly you can't feel the snow anymore.

Here are some photos from last year. I've been waiting to share these pics since this time last year we were so slammed with moving back to LA that I forgot to share these. It's surreal being at a coffeeshop in LA while it's sunny out knowing that that this was all a year ago.

Bagel pup on the The Brick House

This cute pic of Bagel made it on The Brick House!! She was working that dog scarf like no other during last week's WORK/SHOP, a one-night event created for merriment and holiday shopping with local talented LA designers like LuLu Dee, Kate Miss and Matchbox Kitchen. Glad I got to see and meet new friends and this cozy event.

And to top it off...
Here's our holiday photo from the event!  :)

Thanks Ava Alamshah for snapping this sweet pic!

Rain = muddy Bagel

Can you blame this dirty face?

It's been raining here these past few days and Bagel's been stuck inside most of the time. Right outside our house, we don't have much landscaping, just dirt and gangly wild growth,  so a little rain will make a muddy mess.

I thought we went out fot a tinkle but instead she wanted to come back inside looking like this! I had to snap a photo to share and at least show my husband!!
