My husband knows me. He's been gone for 3 weeks of our first month of marriage. What does he bring back for me? A calligraphy set with fine inks, of course.
I'll be experimenting with these nibs later.

This is huge!
I can't believe it. Look, Ma!
This was the moment of it all coming to life.
This past fall, I was contacted by Heather at Just Vandy to be a part of her book, The Vandercook 100. The book celebrates 100 years of printing on the Vandercook press and features 100 of today's printers still utilizing the this analog machine to create beautiful prints. The book focuses not only on beautiful letterpressed prints but gives a reader a photo-based look into the process and the work studios of this passionate niche group of crafters.
I am so proud and pleased to annouce that PresshausLA, the youngster of the bunch, made the final cut to be a part of this elite group of printers.
Honing calligraphic skills to compliment letterpress goodies.
One stop shop and all handmade by yours truly.
My hand is slightly cramped up but I adore the results. Even the white ink has a raised touch on the envelope. On the flap in the back, I've also written a return address. 2 nibs for 2 different line weights but one ink well.
This is how I enjoyed my quiet Sunday evening.
After all the wedding hoopla settled, the gifts opened and everyone is back home, the last of the wedding to-do list are my Thank You cards. I went to McManus & Morgan for their 110 stock of Lettra pearl white and did a blind emboss of our initials for the cover.
Inside, it says:
"Thank you from the new Mr. and Mrs Kim."
I'm still working on it and still have to envelopes to process and maybe calligraph too.
