One of the classiest videos I've seen on letterpress in a while.
The rhythm, the sounds, and the thorough information is greatly appreciated.
The printing process, from the time you ink the machine to printing the last piece is the romantic part, but process before is the painstaking part that if often foreseen. Sure, photopolymer plates are convenient, but there is history, there is craft in handling every letter one by one. Our fingertips become greasy, and our minds go crazy from the math it takes to lock in a form.
That first print is so magical and worth every minute.
Sure, there are machines we can press buttons and command to create something similar. Unplug. Go back to a simpler time.
Why do we print?
Because we have to.
